Symptoms Observed in Menopause
Some women have noticeable symptoms of menopause and some will have other symptoms. Symptoms keep on varying, they may develop more as the process of menopause progresses.
Following are some of the symptoms that improve with time::
- Menstrual period changes.
- Rapid, irregular heartbeat (heart palpitations).
- Headaches.
- Sleep disturbances (insomnia).
- Emotional changes, such as mood swings or a change in sexual interest or response.
- Joint pain.
- Hot flashes.
- Generalized itching.
Some problems are also associated with concentration and memory.
Following are the long term symptoms which get worse with the passage of time:
- Pain during sexual intercourse (dyspareunia).
- Vaginal changes, such as:
- An increased risk of vaginal infections.
- Vaginal dryness and itching.
Urinary tract problems includes:
- An inability to control the leakage of urine (urinary incontinence).
- Changes in appearance.
- Urinary tract infections (UTIs).
As soon as menstrual periods stop, symptoms just end up. But still there are some women who continues with these symptoms even after the periods end.Increase in the symptoms like-
hot flashes, following
menopause caused by surgery, chemotherapy, or radiation therapy is reported by some females. Some of the conditions like- depression,
sleep problems, anxiety, and irritability may even become worse on having menopause.
Some females do not experience any kind of symptoms other than the end of menstrual periods. And feels positive because of the freedom from menstruation and risk of pregnancy.
