Prostate generates a kind of fluid in semen which helps in sustaining and protecting sperm against natural vaginal acids. If no treatment is done, this condition may require surgery. This enlargement of prostate is clinically known as BPH (Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia).

DHT
Conversion of testosterone into DHT leads to the growth in prostate. Also the presence of 5-alpha reductase enzyme synthesizes testosterone into DHT. When this DHT binds with prostate cell, there is a development of growth factors which leads to the increase in size of prostate.
